Certifications & safety promise

What our certifications actually mean for you

Electrical jargon can be confusing. Here's what the headline terms mean in plain English — and what you can count on, every single job.

  • NICEIC

An independent body that assesses electricians against UK safety standards. Being approved means our work is regularly checked to those standards — not just by us.

  • PART P

The Building Regulations covering home electrics. We notify the relevant work to Building Control, so your installation is registered and signed off as compliant.

  • EICR

An Electrical Installation Condition Report — a thorough health-check of your wiring with a clear pass/fail and a written certificate you can keep or hand to a buyer or tenant.

  • 18TH EDITION

The current UK wiring regulations (BS 7671). All our work meets this standard, including modern RCD protection that cuts the power fast if something goes wrong.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

The questions we're asked most about safety and certification. Can't see yours? Give us a call or send a message — we're happy to explain.

  • Do I need a Part P certificate?
For most fixed electrical work in a home — like a new circuit, a consumer unit change or work in a bathroom or kitchen — yes. As a registered electrician we notify the work to Building Control on your behalf and issue the certificate, so it's all handled and signed off properly without you having to arrange anything.
  • What is an EICR and do I need one?
An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a thorough health-check of your wiring. It gives a clear pass or fail and a written report of any issues. Homeowners are advised to have one roughly every 10 years; for rented homes it's a legal requirement every 5 years. We carry them out and explain the results plainly.
  • Are you NICEIC registered?
Yes. We're an NICEIC Approved Contractor, which means our work is independently assessed against UK safety standards on a regular basis. You can ask to see our registration at any time, and it's shown on every certificate we issue.
  • Is your work guaranteed and insured?
Absolutely. We carry £2 million of public liability insurance, and our workmanship is guaranteed. If anything isn't right after we've finished, just let us know and we'll put it straight.
  • Do you issue certificates after the work?
Always. Once the work is tested and complete you'll receive the appropriate certificate — an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate — for your records. Keep it safe: it's useful proof of compliant work when you sell or let the property.
  • Can you do emergency callouts?
Yes. We offer out-of-hours cover for genuine electrical emergencies such as total power loss, burning smells or exposed live parts. Call the number above and we'll talk you through making things safe and get to you as quickly as we can.
